hey guys i just bought this new to me 92 ford f350 7.3l 4x4 my question is i pulled the codes from the computer and i had neutral safety switch and vehicle speed sensor, so i replaced both of them disconnected the batteries and drove it a couple miles and pulled the codes again and it came up vehicle speed sensor again. but the weird thing is the speedo works fine no bouncing, truck drives and shifts great and no od light flashing, so my question is since the truck drives fine does it mean that its not in limp mode and its safe to drive it??
Tygerrrr, if I recall correct, when I had the codes pulled from my old E4OD (to verify computer happiness after converter lockup mod), busted knuckles garage boy mentioned that if I ever have to get that done elsewhere I should remind the person doing the scan to hold the gas pedal to the floor, else the computer will come up with a false code. My attention span is very short, so I have no memory of what exactly that false code would be, maybe it is the VSS code you're seeing?
I had same problem code always said VSS and speedo worked fine. The PSOM was my problem. I had to send the dash in and get the PSOM fixed. Since then it has been fine.
