I have a 2010 F-150 super cab and when backing up the rear seat headrest on both sides blocks my ability to see the rear corners of the bed of the truck. I tried to extend and remove them but the two shafts are too long- the headrest hits the interior roof and they cannot be removed. So- it looks like I will need to remove the back of the seat in order to remove the headrest. Has anyone ever tried to remove the back of the rear seat?
I have the crew cab and the head rest wont come out while the seats are in the down position. If you fold the seats up it puts them on an angel and can be removed.
like said above if you extend them all the way to the ceiling of the truck you can pull slightly forward on them and wiggle them out. This is what i did because i also could not see around them while backing up!
Ive got a supercab with the same problem. I dont think mine will come out without unbolting the seat.
Im not too bothered by them though, since i primarily use the side mirrors when backing up. I really only use the rearview mirror when im moving forward to see cars behind me.
