Recommendations for Air Compressor

I drive in the sand a few times per year and would like to be able to easily adjust the tire pressures up and down as needed. Does anyone have a recommendation on an air compressor, installed or portable. I'd like to avoid taking up space in the truck bed as well.

Check into Viair. They make a full line of copressors. I have one in my tool box and it is great.

I chose to go with a couple of these:
Amazon.com: Q Industries MV50 SuperFlow Hi-Volume Air Compressor: Automotive
I could get 2 for much less than a Viair. I got two figuring they would not be very durable so I wanted a spare. Been using the original for 5 years now....

Oh, nice (and inexpensive!) So, do you just hook it up to the battery? Is there a way to attach it to an upfitter switch? Does it require an increased idle to power it? Thanks for the information!

Out of the box, they are designed to clamp to battery.
They draw about 30 amps on start up, which is probably too much to run direct to upfitter. Relay and circuit breaker is better.
I modified them and mounted them permanently under the bed. I run them off small switches and relays.
Modifications included rotating the head, and removing the handle, motor cover, gauge, and the non-standard quick release fittings. Now they just have a hose on the outlet going to my air tank. And they look identical to a Viair except for the paint color....
I can run both at the same time at idle and voltage remains over 13.
