Ultra Wheels
Ultra Wheels
Anyone had any experience with this brand? They've got a set of wheels that look like knockoff Mickey Thomson's for about a hundred bucks a wheel. Not too bad.

go to your local used tire spot and ask them to call their local distributor for tires and wheels, if they are hungry enough for your buisness they will get them for you and hit you for a few dollars to mount and balance in hopes you will be a repeat customer.
my cost for that rim is $74.22 so a tire shop will mark it up $20.00 or so but you get to save on freight. I do my customers like this but tell em that its for the mount and balance maybe tack on $5 for a dismount and $3 for a disposal.
to answer your question they are a good rim very popular BUT a pain in the a$$ to keep polished to that as new shine. clean them with dawn dish soap while they are cool to touch and look for one of those round scrub brushes at your local auto store to clean in the rough casting holes.

If you look in my gallery, you can see them when they are new and when they have set for a few months. They won't shine on their own like some other wheels I have had, but the price is really hard to turn away from, and like he said, a little attention, and they look great.
I have a set of Ultra 164 on my Highboy. They are made in China....but MOST wheels are now imported. They aren't clear coated and as such are naked cast aluminum. They oxidize pretty easy and require a bit of elbow grease to look good. Steer clear of using things like Simple Green or Castrol degreaser on them.
They seem plenty strong as I have hauled HEAVY loads on them with no trouble. That said I did have one come loose and tore up the holes. That was my fault as I failed to check torque on the lugs. That is a good practice with alloy wheels. Check torque frequently...such as with every oil change.
