rear Parking Sensor problems on the EX

rear Parking Sensor problems on the EX
So I have an 04 excursion and just all of a sudden the rear parking assist sensors turns off without me flipping the switch. Could this be a bad sensor or did I blow a fuse somewhere, sometimes it does work @ first start only though. Has anyone had this problem before???? I didn't hit anything nor does anything look like it was hit

It will shut itself off anytime it senses a connection issue or broken sensor, or a wiring or module issue. Most of the time if there is no damage it is a bad sensor or a poor connection. Take all the sensor connectors off and clean them out with deoxit and spray some dry silicone on the rubber seals and reseat them. Make sure the sensors are not pushed in and fit flush to the bumper. From there you will have to take to dealer to have codes pulled and pids monitored if that doesnt fix it.
