Usb..dash vs,Usb2 ..glovebox
I don't have any pictures...but I'll explain it as best I can...you will need a small cable is all...about $3.00 on ebay, I think the Ford part is about $30 and then you have to file on it to make it fit....my $3.00 cord worked without filing.
1. Lower your glove box down, just flex in the right side and it will drop all the way down. Well first take everything out of the glovebox...
2. If you look up a bit, and to the right, you will see a black cord plugged into the "sync" box. Follow that cord back and it goes to your current in dash USB plug in.
3. Just beside it, toward you, is another mini A Male plug in "site"...Order up a cord with Mini A style Male end, and a USB style Female end, and you'll be able to run through the USB2 plug in. I just bought a short one, and have an ipod cord plugged into it, and it's plenty long with the ipod cable permanently taped to it.. Note that it's hard to see, but you should be able to feel it.
4. Not sure on this, but I think if a guy wanted USB 1 in the glovebox, and USB2 on the dash, you just swap the cords around at that box.
I have a PM with a Picture of the cord, if I still have the PM, i'll send it to you...therewise do a forum search and there is forums with more info.
Hope this helps
Are you sure it's giving you a voice prompt at all? Reason I ask is because my 2 year old in 30 seconds messed up my voice command prompts, I couldn't figure out how, so I had to perform a "master reset" on the system to get everything back to "normal"!!
Either source will only be available if the sync uprocessor has enumerated (recognized and mounted) the respective device.
