I'm new here and I also just aquired a 2002 F250 V10 4x4 and had a problem with the speedometer not working. I took to a guy that chased down a broken wire and fixed the problem. Now the overhead console reads AVG MPG .1 and then it went to .2 and then .3, I sure hope I'm not getting .1 MPG or even a staggering .3 MPG. Can anyone tell me what if going on with the indicator? The other functions seem to be working ok. Just the MPG is wacky......
Thanks in advance!
Press the E/M and MODE
controls simultaneously. The display
will illuminate the “AVG” indicator.
While the indicator is lit, release
both controls to reset the average
fuel economy.
You can download a copy of your manual, if you don't have one, by going here:
Not to hijack your thread but I also am having the same problem except my entire console keeps going out and will only come back on when it decides to.
You may have a soldering issue. I believe there is a fix posted in the how to's on doing it. I have done it for my friend who has that option on his truck and it is easy and works! You have to have a fine hand or some may say steady. Oh yeah, a soldering iron is a must also.
