So, went and got an extremely eavy load of fence today, 450 10.5 foot rails and 100 jack legs, all pressure treated. No problems towing the load, truck is still running great, but set a P1211 ICP out of range error. Have a brand new ICP sensor in the truck as the old one was full of oil and having delayed start issues a month or so ago. Also have 3000 miles on rotella 15/40, still has good color. All that said, when i set the code, I was doing 45mph up an 8% grade in second gear, taching 2500 or so. Any ideas on what set the code? Truck is still purring like a kitten, not sure what to think. Another load to go get in the morning, today was probably running 25k lbs, truck, trailer and cargo, tomorrow will be considerably lighter, probably a little over half the weight from today.
Your HPOP is not keeping up with the heavier demand for extra power.. this code is normal if you are using a chip/tuner/programmer.. I get this code all the time.. You probably got a CEL light which goes out after a little normal driving..
i have had the code a couple times...not every time pulling the camper. i dont get the check engine light but i think i know when it happens. having a manual trans...if i lug the engine down too much i think it causes it. i need to quit being lazy and down shift more. the last couple of times i have pulled i ade an effort to keep the rpm's up and i had no codes.
one day ill get an AE and know for sure what my HPOP is doing.

That's what mine does when I get on it in hot tune, goes out in a minute or two of NORMAL driving...lol

Thanks for any ideas.
Stock tune while towing? You shouldn't get that code if so.
Otherwise expect to set that code under those conditions if running a tune.
The cure is big oil.
If running stock tune then something's up. Either your HPOP is getting worn out (highly unlikely) or there is a bleed point for the high pressure oil to escape that is small enough for the HPOP to keep up with under average conditions.
Thanks for all of the feedback. It is a stock tune for the time being. Guess i will watch it and see what happens, I towed another load yesterday(day after) and the light went out after about 10 miles and has not returned.
Dan, as far as a bleed off goes, are you meaning like the IPR is sticking open or something like that? I have not rebuilt that yet, maybe I will get the kit and do it just to be safe.
Thanks Dan, will add all of this to my "todo" list. At 148 k I would assume the injectors themselves are ok, but a re-oring certainly couldnt hurt. Same for the IPR, then go from there. Budget really doesn't have stick in it at the moment, but I suppose it could be rearranged if they are "needed", of course I might have to get bigger ones while I am at it
