thanks for the reply but i don't wish to down grade just was thanking that it would be the same as what i have just it would be a solid axle not the TTB also were i live i can not find a d60 wish i could have found them on ebay and craigslist but tha'y are very very expensive and ten have to pay for the shipping cost
thats why i was asking about the bronco axle and if the hubs will work dont do a lot of playing around in the mud just need to work out in the fileds(feeding cows and horses)
i did find a d50 axle on ebay that i did bid on we will see what happens with that i don't mind putting the same size axle back in as long as i get the straight axle ( don't thank that this would be a down grade it would be a miner up grade)
That D50 you're talking about is most likely from a 99-02 Super Duty and will have a metric bolt pattern, pretty crappy unit bearings and will be wider wms-wms than your current D50. Its still not a step forward IMO unless you also buy the matching rear axle and new rims.
yes fatdan460 it is a farm truck to me but u could say that it's a every day driver but my axle is shot needs to be redone all the way (bad slip joint, rotters are warpped , seals and so) that's why i said to go with a new axle or used axle but i thank u all for the help that i am getting from all of u
a 1/2 ton d44 ttb is 65", couldn't find a number for a 3/4 ton d44 or d50 ttb, but a stock d60 front from any and all fords would be 69.25 for pre s/d or 69.50'' from a s/d. all the sterling srw axles are the same so i'd have to assume a ttb 50 is the same width as a d60 otherwise the steering ackerman angle chit would be all fubared with a narrower front axle on the f250's. i don't know all the math behind it, but the fronts are supposed to be wider, don't ask me about duallies because i don't effing know. i do know for sure though that my 94's d60 was a solid 2+ inches wider per side than my rear. you can kind of tell in this pic, all 4 rims are 12'' wide same back spacing.
A wider front helps with tracking so yes that is very common. I also know Sterlings (10.25 and 10.5s) are narrower than 60fs but 2" per side doesn't sound close to right on the SDs. I'm quite sure the SD
fronts are wider than the older 60s though. Not talking about the HD60s either. I think those things are 10" wider than the regular SD axles.
