Completed Melling LPOP...
finished installing Melling LPOP M208 ordered from the "great" Clay. Special thanks to Peter(duck fan) who gave me his cell number and answered my numerous calls during the install. Very easy project. Noticed my oil pressure sweep gauge comes right up to the middle immediately. Before it would take about a 3 mississippi count when hot, and about a 5 count when cold.
I used Peter's Thread Here you can print out the PDF if needed.
first of all...i couldnt loosen the fan/fan clutch which i thought would be the easiest part...which lead me to believe this was going to be a LONG day. ended up just moving the fan shroud up and was able to accomplish what was needed. a little tight, but worked. second...i had to "tap" the housing with a small ball peen hammer to loosen it from the block. no biggie, but prying wouldnt do it. when we reinstalled the crank pulley, i know what was ment by another poster about not needing a longer bolt now. if you dont use the "stock" washer, you can use a washer of less thickness but the same or close diameter. then use the same bolt. i think the diameter of the washer was about 1.5"...not positive but can check if anyone needs it. then i tighened as normal and removed and installed stock thick washer. all in all it was a very simple install once i figured it out. good luck to all planning this mod/fix
