I have a 78 F150 4x4. 351M, C6 NP205.
I found a C6 locally for a good deal and i'm waiting to hear back from him about the motor size. I know the bell housing is different for a 351m to a 351w or 4.9 6cyl. Is the bellhousing removable on these trannies, or do I need to find a C6 from the 385 series?
Ok,
I couldn't remember if it did or not. I just heard back from the guy, and he said it came from a 385 series. So I should be good to go there. However, just so I have a backup plan, whats the quickest/easiest way to look at it and tell if it is indeed from a 385 series?
