I saw a good article in one of the classic truck mags about how to digitalize our instruments. It was pretty cool looking, keeping the same dash and instrument panel, but simply with a black face and red/blue/or green digital read outs.
I believe it was Custom Classic Trucks. Their shop hauler is a Dent. They have done a few articles on upgrades. Very interesting for those who have Dents.
I checked over the thread that was posted up thanks to LongTravelHighboy. I'm not sure that those guages are the style that I would like in my dentside when I'm done with it...
Of course, it was a very interesting thread/story to read from Custom Classics, but it's just not for me.
If you ask me, all those gauges really remind me of the look my grandmothers 88 Olds Cutlass she used to have, and I wasn't too fond of that look at all..
Don't know why you'd want one. Analog gauges are much easier to read when you glance at them. Digital gauges have to be read, at least with the analog gauge you can tell if something is up by the position of the needle

But whatever, to each their own!
I agree 100% ..............I dont even really like the looks of the digital display in my Pioneer CD deck in my truck. It just doesnt look right. Just cant quite see spending the $$$$ for one of the aftermarket retro ones with the *****........At least my old Pioneer is old enough that the LED display is green and kinda matches the dash light color and is not pink, orange or purple...........LOL

In your opinion they are hard to read. I prefer the Dakota dash in my Bronco over the stock dash in my 250. I'm sure if you had the option to preview both as you were driving down the road your opinion would change. The digital dash is much more accurate than the stock setup and gives you a true reading on what is actually going on.
I think the digital is pretty cool and a nice upgrade. The thing I don't like about them is the price, but good autometer gauges aren't far off the digital ones.
