as far as an intercooler. I have one like the one you want to buy. 3" tubing. Seems it can go somewhere, but not sure where. I haven't had time to mess with it. Somewhere on youtube a kid has a van with an intercooler. but there isnt a bumper on it yet. But he did it.
as far as i know, they are all the same. i don't have a y pipe yet either. so i didn't bother exploring how to squeeze an intercooler up threre.
I wonder if there is even a big bennefit to even having an intercooler. These aren't rice burners. These are slow and low rpm iron tanks.
Do semi's have intercoolers?
Would like to know more as well. Recently purchased a 2000 7.3 E450 Motorhome, 31’7” long. weighed 14660.. seems to run fine but I know there has to be a little more power available while keeping reliability.
Putting an intercooler in a van is so rare, that If you want to know how it is done, you have to just do it yourself!
It can be done and it is in my future plans..
I gave one of our members a cooler that I think has the potential to fit. I haven't heard if he's tried sizing it up yet. Pretty sure it was from an International box truck with a DT444E (AKA 7.3 PS) or maybe a DT466E engine. Width seems similar to ours but it's much shorter in height and thicker to make up for the loss of height. He didn't have his van here to take any measurements, my vans are IDIs so I didn't bother checking.
