adjusting valves

adjusting valves

When you adjust the valves do you just go down the row torqueing them all to 45 ft-lbs or do they need to be in a certain state. Like both valves closed?

Just front to rear. I do 20 first and then 45. Go all the way through the sequence and then start over.

You've got to make sure the rocker shaft gets removed and reinstalled evenly. If not then you'll bend the shaft and end up bending pushrods. Here's a good link FE's That Bend Push-rods, A Dirty little Secret .: Articles
