I think their newer version looks really cool. However I also think it's way over priced. I have a dash full of autometer guages that cost a lot less then the Dakota digital.

Yea I agree 608$ is pretty pricey. My speedometer is off by 35-40 mph. And my temp ain't working. And I have the dummy lights for alternator... What kind of setup you have on your truck co425?

Built my own panel and filled it with auto meter sport comp II gauges.
I have around $500.00 and change or so in my gauges. The issue with Dakota is the extra modules you have to add to the price of the gauge panel to get everything to work. After I added it up it was going to be well north of 1k to get a functional set of gauges.
While some may think it is overpriced IMO it looks much better than a bunch of round gauges in a custom panel. I like it for the similarity of the OE look and the accuracy over the original gauges.
EDIT: co425, your gas gauge looks like it doesn't work.
Or just find an 80's cluster and put it in for way cheaper than any of the options :P
the dakota is slick but not worth the price regardless of how pretty it looks.
Unless you have more money than

Yeah cause an 80-up dash will fit just right.
I guess I have more money than brains. One day I hope to be as smart as maybe you.
What does that thread have to do with this? That thread is about printed circuit/cluster interchangeability among 73-79 pickups and some 80's Econoline vans. Nothing to do with bullnose trucks. I don't get it.

No clue the link has nothing to do with bullnoses though just saying no reason to spend 600$ on a dakota when an 80's cluster will work instead for much cheaper unless you want to spend the money.

Yes, an 80's cluster would theoretically be cheaper, but it would be a hassle to make it fit, cosmetically and electrically. Other than a tachometer, it is functionally equivalent to the 73-79 cluster, so I don't see the point other than the fact that it looks cool. The OP was interested in a digital dash. It's irrelevant.
The title of this thread was "show me pictures of the Dakota setup." Right?

and the OP asked "wanting to see what people think"
