I have a lifted 95 f150 on 33s with a 302 and E4OD. I just bought this truck from a guy who said he rebuilt the transmission, which put me at ease. At first it was fine and only shifted in and out of OD on the highway cause of the big wheels, but now it feels like the power is barely getting to the wheels at all. Is the 302 just tired and needs some work? or maybe is it a torque converter problem?
dunno, buy my 4.9 e4od is actin up too......seems to be the heat is killin all of us! my po said it was rebuilt also, now i believe he lied.........im shiftin hard n slippin slightly it seems, replaced the alt, and still no help, seems these trannys are VERY sensitive to the electronics, and computer components from what i read. good luck buddy! hope you fix your problem soon
I believe that my po rebuilt it... i might have just done a halfassed job.... I am going to do a flush on it tomorrow. I pulled the stick and it looked like water with some trans fluid in it. Really clear and a red tint. we will see how some nice new BG fluid does. Ill let yall know
tranny fluids should be a light to medium-dark (semi clear i believe) red color kinda similar to a red wine if i had to equate it to any thing...so if your fluids are a dark red you may need to change them, and my tranny has not been acting up at all so you guys may want to check your fluids and make sure you have enough, check for possible leaks also!!
