Looking at this kit I guess you would have to replace just the ball joint and not the control arm, IDK what year your truck is but this kit is for 99-04
It's a 1997 and I'm doing the balljoints because the squeaking is getting pretty darn loud! (Why no grease nipples????). My overall goal is to get the truck certified so I can get it plated to use as a work truck. I'm just going to keep going with whatever needs to be done, unless it becomes an expensive farce, that is.
If I get the balljointds replaced, the E-brake fixed and the new box installed, hopefully that'll be all it needs to be road worthy.

Hey, I appreciate your response.

If they're like my '99 F150, you'll have to replace the whole control arm. Ford went cheap and didn't provide grease zerks nor the ability to replace just the upper ball joint by itself. Once you replace the upper control arms with an aftermarket like Moog, however, you will be able to replace the ball joint by itself and it will have a grease zerk for longer lasting performance. (I'm replacing my own uppers this weekend. I've got the Moogs sitting on my workbench right now, along with a set of cam bolts.)
No zerk fittings is not a problem. For about 4 bucks at any auto parts store you can buy a needle that fits on the end of your grease gun. Simply slip the needle through the rubber of whatever joint you want to add grease to and pump. Be sure and slowly do it and don't put too much grease into the fitting.
