I got the idea from reading a post here and decided to give it a try. I wanted to make the marker lights on the dually fenders blink with the turn signals. I bought this converter and went to work wiring things up.
I took this video to show how well it worked.
Well, I am not happy with the outcome because I forgot about the brake lights and their effect on the marker lights at night. When you press the brakes, the marker lights go out. So to fix this I need to run a connection to the front turn signals. Here is my question: Does anyone know of an easy and convient location to tap the front turn signal wires? It is very tight behind the front turn signal lights.

Thanks.
Easy? No. Possible, yes. I just installed a set of Recon running board lights that blink when I turn, stay on (at a lower intensity) with the running lights and turn on white courtesy lights when the door is opened. rdenis sent me wiring diagrams for the BCM module. So, if you can get a wire inside the truck, you can tap it there (the BCM is on the kick panel for the passenger side).
If you can't then you can run a wire up over the front wheels (above the cloth material) and connect them to the front turn signals. There is one lead that work the turn signals and another that runs the running lights. You will need to follow the directions in the manual for changing the headlight bulbs to get to the back of the headlights. Epic posted a great video on doing this.
Let me know if you want the BCM wiring stuff and I will send them over. It will have to wait until tonight, serving my 8 hour sentence at the moment...
There is an easier way to tap into brake, running and turn signals L&R. Order a BC3Z13A576A from Partsguyed.com It is a fifth wheel 7 way that attaches to 2 plugs in the wiring harness on the drivers side nect to the spare. You can tap off this a number of ways. Run your wires along the frame to your fenders, running boards etc...

That we where I tapped in at first. The problem is that when the clearance lights are on, and the brakes are applied, the marker lights go out with the setup I am using. To correct this problem you have to tap into the front turn signals.

You got it... Splicing in at the BCM is Ford's recommended method to upfitters/body builders for separating out stop and turn signals... They even did up a handy little document...
The directional's work as expected and not as brake lights. Mine are LEDs so I think that might be causing a slight issue when the 4 ways are on, eg they blink but are not on long enough to get to full brightness.
