Thanks guys! you've baited me into talking about her for a minute, but only a minute! This is my first dentside btw, I've been into the Porsche 944 series cars since i was 15, bought my first project way back then (i'm 21 now). I built one with a tweaked LT1 350 motor out of a vette, it's sitting right now waiting for a trans, so i decided to put some money into something that's going to be dead reliable.

It's a 1973 F100 originally, it has a built 390 motor, bored over 30, stroked up to a 426 i think. All forged bottom end, motor was built by Coleman Bro's. who are pretty local to me. It's got a built Strange 9 inch with 41 spline axles. It's got an 8 inch skyjacker lift, no bodylift, with 39X18? inch Mickey Thompson Baja Belted tires on what i think are 16X10 American Racing wheels. Right now it's only got open headers, but it came with a truckload of parts, including 2 new dynotech race bullet mufflers, and i happen to be an exhaust guy, so that shouldn't be a problem.

The truck sits on a 1979 F350 frame, and was frame off restored in 2002 or thereabouts. It has a little rust around the drip rails, but that is the only rust on the entire truck.

that's all for now, i'm beat from the heat today and i'm gonna crash.

Good night fellas!

Looks awesome!!! I love the wheel and tire combo!

What part of it is a 73 though? If it's on a 79 frame, 78-79 grill, has the badges on the cowl (like a later truck) instead of the fender, and has a later bed on it too.

That's one nice looking truck. Welcome to the forum. If you don't mind me asking, why did the PO (previous owner) want to get rid of it, and how much $$$ was it? Oh yeah, and we love pics here, the more the better.

Very nice truck, love the wheel and tire combo. Doesn't look like a '79 F350 frame though, unless they did major modifications to the front suspension...

Agreed. Looks like standard 1/2 ton stuff. Coil front springs

those coil springs are custom made, originally it didn't have them. So yes this truck has been modified significantly. The cab is from 1973, it actually came from a dealer in the midwest that had it sitting under a tarp in the dealership (ford dealer of course) until probably about 10 years ago, it had never been mounted on a truck, it was brand fricking new. All of the various body mounts that were originally riveted (like the cab mounts etc) were drilled out and replaced with grade 8 hardware, so everything is replaceable if it starts to rust or go bad. The bed is actually from a Limited (maybe f250? not sure) so it never had trim mounted on it. The truck is actually almost completely trimless, and i plan on keeping it that way.

I got the truck for much less than has been put into it because the seller had some personal/family issues that i don't think i'd like to divulge (not really my place too). I paid 6K for the truck and a bunch of extra parts.

Awesome truck but just wondering why the guy would use an F350 frame which would have had front and rear Dana 60s and then mount half ton stuff under it??

Do you have any pictures of the custom coil spring set up??

Im a little lost on this one too. The radius arms are a dead give away half ton...and I can't begin to imagine how a person would use the "C" bushings on a Dana 60. It would have to be a 44 front axle which it is....as the ones in the pic are the small hub 5 lug.

So it would be fairly complicated to convert what WAS a 1 ton frame to accept the hangers for coil spring. 1 tons would have been leaf spring. I can't fathom why a person would go to all that effort to fit that gear under a that frame when all they would have needed would be a leaf spring set and a 3/4 ton front axle.

Perhaps I am missing something.

500 horsepower and 700 torque with the motor tuned up?

i don't know, i'll go over it all again with him to see if i can straighten some stuff out, i'm more lost than you guys, like i said...first dent! Is it possible that the frame is from an f250 and not an f350? perhaps he or i was just confused?

Honestly i'm not that concerned with the specifics, all i know is that this thing is very beastly and i'm looking forward to driving it very often.

Took some new pictures today, only a couple though as i had a storm rolling in and a bed full of parts to get under cover!

Oh and i need mirror brackets and possibly mirrors, i have brand new ones for some ford other than what i have, the holes don't line up!
