Who ever told you that is an idiot. Sorry, I'm not usually that candid in my responses but that idea is ludicrous. The engine/emissions management system will only be as good as the components it has to work with... so the better the parts you put into it, the better you get out of it!
Not possible. The computer does not monitor spark temperature or spark voltage. No system does because a device that can actually DO that would cost twice what the entire system costs to put in the truck. He obviously knows absolutely NOTHING about how the system works. Sorry. I've spent years learning how these systems work and that is just ridiculous. I could detail what each and every sensor in the system does if you really want to know but there are plenty of places you can find that info on the intricacies of the system here on the web.
