6.2L -- Why Is The Availability So Restricted?

I would venture to guess it's the EPA/CAFE standards. The more 6.2L engine is offered, and the more sold, the more it hurts Ford in those and then they are getting fined. So they are making it less available, causing buyers to make a choice if they really want it.
Several years ago, it was hard to find a V6 in an F-150 if you wanted one. The government has changed that, therefore you now have the Ecoboost V6 engine. They will never get rid of the V8, because people are going to want it...and some people are going to need it (even though the Ecoboost is powerful enough for what MOST people do with their trucks). But you'll end up with the smaller V8 (5.0) more often than not.
