hey i have a 1990 f150 extended cab with a <a href="http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/">302 </a>auto.i think my tranny is going ,is it a c4 or c6?

Hi drow and welcome to FTE

Does your truck have overdrive? If it does, does it have a button on the dash to turn off the OD?
If it does have OD and it had the button on the dash you have an E4OD. If it has OD but no button on the dash you have an AOD.
If it is just a 3 speed automoatic it is a C6.

Welcome Drow!
If it's a C6 I very highly doubt it is going bad, you prolly just need to change the fluid and filter. I had one the had almost 180k miles on it and whined in every gear, but it worked fine never gave me an problems.
