Does anyone have any ideal where I could find a 52 Ford...I been looking every..I know they are hard to find....I will rebuild from the frame up....if anyone has one or a place i could look for me please tell me....
Also the reason I want a 52 is becasue I like Sanford and Son lol and I love that truck everytime I see it....
As far as Ebay goes, what you can expect to pay is directly proportional to the condition of the truck. I bought a '51 off of Ebay in October. It's essentially all original, still ran, and the body was straight and pretty solid. The paint is badly weathered, the brakes don't work, and the seat is missing. I paid $1025 and felt like I did pretty good. I've seen some super rough junkers go for well under $500 and some really nice completed trucks go for closer to $10K. You also need to figure in what it's going to cost you to either drive/fly out to wherever it's at to get it or have it shipped. I drove 1400 miles round trip to get mine and gas, food, motel cost right about $175. Like I said, they are there all the time, so be patient and wait for one that is within driving distance to pick up and is in decent shape.
THEY ARE RIGHT JUST BE PATIENT AND WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR WILL EVENTUALLY SHOW UP. THOUGH THIS HAS TOTALLY NOTHING TO DO WITH A FORD TRUCK I LOOKED ON EBAY FOR A MONTH AND A HALF AND BID ON A LASERII STAINLESS PROP FOR MY BOAT IN NEW CONDITION FOR $175.00 WHEN MY LOCAL BOAT DEALER SELLS THEM FOR $485.00. GETTING BACK ON THE SUBJECT I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT A 52 FORD THAT HAS A GREAT RUNNING 289 ENGINE WITH A 3 SPEED TRANS. DUE TO THE AREA OF DAMAGE TO THE CAB IT HAS GOT TO BE REPLACED BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS IN RESTORABLE CONDITION AND I GAVE $400.00 FOR IT REGARDLESS OF WHAT SOME MIGHT THINK I'M PROUD AS HELL TO HAVE IT, AND THATS WHAT IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO.
Another way is to keep a look out everywhere you go. They are out there, sitting by a house down the street, in a lot covered in vines, in a garage taking up space. If you're ever near Pampa I can point out a handful here.
Hi,
Another good place to find one would be Hemming's Motor News. They have a website too: http://www.hemmings.com
Fred Sanford's truck was actually a 1951. Take a look at the front of Fred's hood at the beginning of the show, just before Lamont turns into the driveway. You get a clear shot of the 3 holed nose vent trim that says FORD on it.
really wow i thought it was a 52 becasue i heard he say it in one episode when he thought someone stole his truck...he said he wanted to report a stolen 52 ford pick up
