I just introduced my catalytic converter to a sawzall. It sure sounds cool and what a difference, not that much noisier. What I am wondering is there any reason I should not run it from right where I cut it off. The exhaust pipe now ends right after the support bracket by the cross member for the transfer case. Thinking of putting a short piece of pipe to turn down slightly. Any mechanical reason not to run it like this???
I love the smell of diesel exhaust. It was my favorite part of deleting the cat. Mine is much noisier, but I not only deleted the cat, but everything downstream of it, too.
Edit: It's okay to breathe or smell as long as you don't inhale, lol.
My truck doesn't really work for anything except really short trips right now due to transmission issues, so I haven't had the opportunity to notice any change in fuel economy. I do love the turbo noise, though. It sounds way better than stock.
I did a Cat delete when I put my 3-4" exhaust on...I love the smell of diesel exhaust too, but if you can and want to roll coal (just for grins)...it doesnt look as cool blowing out from under your bed. ^_^
x2 on loving the turbo whine...If you upgrade your exhaust you get turbo whine almost all the time!
