On the filter mount end of the oil cooler, just above and to the rear of the filter is a 1/4 npt plug. Does anyone know if this is a coolant port or an oil port that might be good for a pressure gauge hose fitting?
That one on the side of the block is a coolant port........normally replaced with a spigot drain to assist in getting all the coolant out on a change. There is one on the left side too.
Now there is an oil plug (square) further back on the drivers side, it's on the very back side flange of the engine in behind the manifold to Y pipe connection. The oil pressure there is directly from the filter...... vice the actual oil pressure sender position is at the end of the oil travel.
Yeah, the port at the left, rear, bottom of the block is feeding my turbo and I thought of tee-ing into it but it is a little close to the exhaust. There is also a port below the oil cooler but I haven't been able to get the plug out yet. The port I'm asking about is on the actual oil filter mount, just outboard, above and to the rear of the filter.
