Okay first off i did search around and didnt see anything that pertained to what i was looking for.


Im never on this particular section but a friend contacted me over the phone about his 2008 F-150.

Story goes he had bad u joints, so he went to get new ones from ford and they where some special u joint that was larger???? They gave him what it was supposed to be and the u joints where to small. So they pulled the Vin the on the truck and ordered the particular u joints that the truck needed. They where $170? Something is fishy....

Anyways i guess he had someone install them and they vibrate still. When he went back to ford they said that they dont even mess with u joints in these trucks. They just order a new drive shaft and install it.


Now i have worked on a lot of trucks but this is a first. Personally i think hes getting taken for a ride. I have not see the truck or parts, this is all hearsay from him.


Any truth to any of this?

I heard about just replacing the drive shaft several times on here. Either that or there is a specail cutting tool to get the old ones out.
