I'm not IPad savvy Mike but I bought one for my wife last Christmas. She absolutely loves it and says it's the best gift I've ever gotten her. I got her the 64GB with wi-fi and 3G. So far, so good. She takes it everywhere with her.
They are nice, especially if you allready have an iPod Touch or an iPhone. Some of the iPod Touch/iPhone apps will work on the iPad and iPad2. If your vehicles are OBDII you can get an interface from PLX Devices and run a app like Rev, DashCommand, or FUZZYCar and do diagnostics, create virtual gauges, reset trouble codes, and keep logs of events. (I don't work for any of the companies involved with the mentioned products. There are others out there, I'm just familar with these.)
Although, If you have an phone that uses the Android os, you might also want to look at some of the Android powered tablets on the market for the same compatibility with apps you may already have.
nope, new to aps and would be my first "touch screen" device. Thanks for the info everyone. I think I will head to the local apple store to check one out!
I had the iPad 2 for a few months and really liked it but I didn't need it so I sold it on eBay. They are nice to have just sitting on the couch and surfing the web or playing some games on it.
I ended up getting the wife a Samsung Galaxy Tab With Verizon/Android.. Wi-Fi, 3G and removeable/expandable memory.. Took it on our last vaca. and loved having it instead of the laptop... Smaller than the Ipad/Zoom so easier to handle and store..lots of apps..
I want one for my truck. My Alpine Hu works with them. My old Kenwood worked with a MP3 but it didn't control the MP3. My Alpine will control the Ipod & show its functions on its screen. Its nice to carry your whole music collection with you. I can drive for hours & never hear a song twice.
well, it took me a few months to pull the trigger, but I finally did it. I Love thie thing! Would recommend it to anyone with young children and it is working great as a 2nd home cmputer! Thanks for all of the advise!

So did this mean that u bought a iPad as well??
I love my iPad. I know how to actually work this if I have to use my wife's laptop to do stuff I'm lost about half the time.

Glad you picked one up Mike! My wife still loves hers and uses it daily. It's proven to be a good investment.
I finally broke down and bought an iPod the other day because the radio in my new cruiser is crap. I got a cigarette lighter adapter with the FM tuner so I can listen to it across the radio in the car. Works pretty darn well too.
