I know its on the cheap but is it worth it? or should I go with something like MBRP? I do alot of towing and dont really like the drone! What is everybodys opinion???
Thank you
It depends on how your truck gets used. If it's all lond distance type highway driving the Summit system would last quite awhile. If you do mixed driving with some short distance driving, I'd go with a quality stainless system like MBRP, Magnaflow, Banks, or Borla. It'll outlast the Summit system by a lot if it's stainless.
go with mbrp. i love mine. it is the aluminized pipe and two years old. the truck has been driven in every snowstorm up here and covered in salt time and time again, and no rust issues on the "cheap" exhaust. no need to waste $ on stainless
i had the MBRP stainless system on my last truck. the muffler started rattling after about 3 months like it was falling apart inside, removed it from the truck and there was something between the canister and the inner tube, weld slag, who knows. they pretty much told me tough **** when I called them.
Recommend Allied, been around for 40+ years, flow as good if not better than the perf mufflers, cost a fraction of them, just about every muffler shop handles these and they last.
Call me crazy and prob some would call me stupid but I just cut my muffler out of mine. it sounds as good as any exhaust system and it lost 25 lbs. total cost was about 25 for the pipe and whatever it cost to weld it in. Ford said I would have a problem with it not resinating and would be realy loud or vibrate alot inside the cab, but I would have to disagree. as long as you leave the cats on then there is no problem. I also got about two miles to the gallon more. just an idea. it is also on an 04 5.4 not sure what would happen on the newer ones.
