I got my Aluminum drive shaft out of 95 Lincoln Mark VIII, cost, $25.00 from U-Pull'n Pay. Had a slip yoke to fit a T5Z tranny fitted, cost $79.01, shortened and balanced, cost $80.00 from Drive Line Services in Colorado Springs, Co.

From the center of my u-joint to the center of my other u-joint, I'm looking at 56.5". Would a Lincoln drive shaft be long enough? Also due to the off-set on the 9" rear, I'm thinking 3.5" in diameter is as big as I want to go without hitting a cross member. Do you remember the diameter of the Lincoln shaft? I lived in Ci Spgs i and graduated from Doherty HS in 76. Does anybody cruise Nevada Ave. anymore?
Thanks!

Yep, I grew up In Illinois and there were all kinds of "mechanical/machine shops up there. I had an easier time getting things done up ther than I do in the Atlanta Metro area-go figure.

The diameter of the Mark VIII driveshaft is 3.5". Since I am running a Mark VIII IRS this shaft was my first choice. I don't remember what the stock length was but I'm sure you can find that info. on the net. The only time there is a cruise on Nevada and Tejon is after the Stockers car show at the Garden of the Gods visitors center. This only happens once a month in the summer. Every Saturday night there is a car show at the old Grocery Warehouse which is a block from Doherty on Auston Bluffs Parkway. BTW I taught Science at Doherty HS from 94 to 99.

Thanks for the info! I sure miss the Springs! I was in the first class to graduate from DHS, I even played football that year(all 150 lbs of me in the middle of the defensive line). Did you know Mr. Hart(my physiology teacher) and Mr. Espinoza(math), Mr. Bivens(psych)? I think Mr. Hart drove an F100(made that part up to keep it truck related!).

With my GM tranny and Ford 8.8 axle, I couldn't use any thing off the shelf. I made a mock up with some junk parts, tacked it together and took it to drive line service in Colorado Springs. Same place as 48 steel (Mike). I told them to build one just like this, with new parts. Cost $308.
AFA cruising in Colorado Springs, the Stockers have the first show/cruise on june 18 at the Garden of the Gods, like 48 Steel said. Show, then cruise through town after. Mikes club has their show in Monument this Sunday.
