Where to get a good transmission in Nw Georgia

I'm in need of a rebuilt or reman. e4od in North West Georgia . I live half way between Atlanta GA and Chattanooga TN off interstate 75. Anybody know of a good transmission shop that has good 2-3yr and high mileage warranty? There are shops online that give good warrenties but none of them are close that I can find. I'm sure there must be someone around that will give me better that a 12,000 mile warranty.

You may want to call Ford Performance Specialists in Douglasville. They do a lot on the newer trucks, and the guys there really seem to know their stuff. They might have the knowledge to be able to help you with your IDI.

I think I will call ford. I have a friend that bought one from ford and he said they had a good warranty and it only cost him about $1500 a couple of years ago. So hopefully they won't have gone up to much. I originally thought ford charged 3 time what everyone else would for one. ( I paid $3 for a quarter size o-ring once) I ordered one with another company and was told i would have it in seven days. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and they said Friday that something was wrong with the trans that they were building and i would have to wait another 7-10 days. I'm going to find someone else it doesn't sound good already and i had to call them to get the news.

I'm driving a 79 f350 that gets about 10-12mpg and its 60 miles to work. A couple hundred more for one this week will save me at the pump in the long run.
