I'm getting ready to replace my Body mounts in my 94 Bronco and was wondering if it's something I can do in my driveway with jackstands and floor jack? Can i get them out and new ones in without having to lift up too high? Also does anyone have any info about if Poly mounts are worth it, or should a new set of OE parts work just fine?
being where you live with the extreme cold temps i would be curious to know if the poly would be best. the rubber mounts may get to hard and brittle???
just do one side of the rig at a time is what i have heard.
Yes you can do it in he driveway. Loosen all the bolts so it can be lifted and do one side at a time as Kemicalburns said. Do not remove all the bolts, leave the oppisite side in so the body don't slide off off the frame. Also be sure to read the instructions that come with the kit, not all pf the mounts are the same and need to be in the right place.
So I decided to go with Stock parts (Rubber) (They lasted this long). Does anybody know of a "kit"? I looked in the LMC catalog, and I have to order 25-30 different parts and probably no instructions. I'm retired Air Force, so I need instructions. Haha.
Be forworned. Sometimes the old mounts can be extreemly difficult to get out. The sleeves rust together. The 92' I've been working on I had to drill em out.
