Alright guys, brakes are all done on the camper, entire system bleed out, old brake fluid was black at the wheel cylinders. Bleeders weren't rusty at all, cracked open no problem, didn't even need to heat 'em.
Now, on to the next thing.
Trans. flush, drop pan, filter etc. And adding a tranny cooler!
I haven't looked for one yet. But I taught I'd ask some opinions on them first.
Brand/size price etc.
I'm looking for a BIG one ofcourse, and the good kind, I keep forgeting what there called (same type as a engine radiator) NOT the "tube" type coolers.
Any of you have recommendations on brands/sizes for this heavy pig?
Anywhere, any brand I should avoid buying one from, etc?
I'm looking for one roughly around 12" by 8" should be enough right? Or biggest one I can get? What's an average price on these things anyways? Never really looked for one.
And heres the mounting location I was thinking. Either there in red, or just lower so that half of it is behind those 2 long holes in that molding just under the grill.
Summit Racing best place to get em. get one set for 26-32k. should be around 7 rows. you dont want too big, you want your fluid to stay warm and fluid, and you for sure dont want it too hot and glaze your clutches over.
X2 on the hayden cooler they make a nice unit, ive also heard to put it into series with your cooler in the rad. run it through the rad fiorst, then through your secondary cooler, then back to the trans to get the most efficent cooling

Thats the way its done! But then theres idiots like me that pull way too much and need a second aux cooler. The plate and fin coolers are claimed to be 30% more "efficent" then the tube and fin coolers.
i know it's a lot of bread.if you search around though you can find a big cooler, and a fan sold separately.just run a toggle switch to make her spin.
it's the ONLY way your going to keep the C6 under 200 degree's when screaming up them hills...scratch that....i mean them monster mountains that you find under WOT in 2nd gear at 25 MPH or lower for such long periods with that heavy monster.
don't forget a trans temp gauge.
did i forget to tell you that im shocked you didn't have a trans failure on your last journey lol.
one things for sure.them C6's sure are tough mothers.
did you know i rebuilt one of those suckers (many years ago now) and i coupled it with a 2800 stall TC behind a heavily cammed and carbed 400.....my first impression was; "these parts shouldn't be legal".

Derale 16749 Adjustable Fan Controller allows you to adjust the on/off temperature. You could use it as an idiot light or to run the fan on your remote cooler.
we all live different lives before responsibility and wisdom kicks in lol.
the lack of fuel economy was the least of that young mans concerns ...
thinking back now,i must have had a suspended drivers license more often than a valid one.such a waste of $ that i wish i had saved now of course.
mark me up for one of them young fellers that's very fortunate to be around for middle(ish-i hope!) age now.
I have a Tru-Cool MAX Fin & Plate cooler (part # 4739). This thing flat out rocks.
It's HUGE for one. Measures 8 1/2 x 22 x 1 1/4. It has a GVW rating of 40k and a BTU rating of 45k. Also came with a "cold weather bypass valve" (basically allows the trans to get up to temp before actually cooling it). I have my cooler installed after my factory one, so the external is bypassed till the temp reaches 180 degree's, then the bypass opens and allows the external cooler to work.
