Does anyone know where a vin number maybe stamped on the frame or cab. My issue is there is no data tag in the glove box or drivers door jamb. The other bad news is that the front frame area has had a camaro front clip graffted on so that one is also missing.
You are WAY out of this part of the forum.I suggest you look a little further,and find the correct year model area you have.Im sure you will get some answers there. Welcome to the Forum!
Do you have the vin number on an old registration? If so stamp the number on the top of the pass side frame rail just forward of th cab mount. Call MidFifties and have them make you a new door tag. Then proceed getting it registered. I highly suggest using a registration service rather than dealing with DMV yourself.
Thanks guys but at the moment I have nothing with a vin number on the truck and it's in to good of shape to use as a parts truck been garage kept and has had a minor resto at one time.
try the frame rail , front , on the right side just forward of the axle .i got one frame with it there and another that has the number under the radiator cradle . doesn't seem to be any rime or reason to where you find them on these old girls . both of mine are 53's { despite what it says officially }
Well if it is too nice to part out, you have two choices. Buy a parts truck with a clear title and use it or grab a Hemming's and buy a title from one of the guys that sell them.
Thanks guys for all the info, I was able to check the frame yesterday and all that was left was F-10. That is after I moved my other halfs yard tools out of the way. She was kind enough to pick up the paper work from the dmv here, they call it a bonded title here in Texas. Looking at all they require I may go to Hemmings. I'll try and get some pics it make take a while trying to help my son with his 39 chevy rat rod we still have a long way to go with it. My 50 ford coupe blew a tranny input seal gotta fix that, to many irons in the fire. The old girl (56) is in a dry safe place and is waiting patiently for the 468 big block.
