Ok, I bought one of these Riff Raff cold air intakes.
So, what's the difference with the Riff Raff or the standard system, other than I will be getting rid of the plasic box the original filter sits in.
It's still just a big air filter on the end of the inlet.
The 6637 intake is a DIY kit design that is modeled after a "Big Name" brand aftermarket intake. The name comes from the part number for the filter element at NAPA. When you buy through RiffRaff you get extras like the filter cover, the 4" powder coated tube, great customer service and instructions. Once you buy the kit you can buy replacement filter elements at many auto parts stores.
Yes, it give much better air flow. You will notice a sound difference in your motor now. Also, the filter will last longer between changes.
Some people who have gauges for air intake temperature have recorded a lower intake air temperature but this is less documented because not many people have gauges for that.
