Grille guard suggestions?

Hey, I have a 2007 f150 supercab 2wd, and I would like to get a grille guard. Even though I would like a full bumper replacement, I don't think I will be able to, so I will just stick with the bolt on kind. I saw this guys grille guard and it looks pretty sweet: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...d=163027&.jpg=
What kind is that, and how much would one be?

I'm looking for one that isn't just some thin tubing that won't do anything if you hit anything going more than 10 mph (shopping cart?), and I would like one that I could install in an afternoon with a friend.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Here's a link from AutoAnything.com that should provide you with a good idea of what's out there:

EDIT: Link didn't work when inserted to the forum

Here's their homepage. Type in "grille guard" in their search area:

If you feel that way, then you will want to check out BuckStop, RanchHand, or Nfab for bumpers. Just to name a few.

what kind do you have?
i found this on their website: 2007 Ford F150 Legend Grille Guard
looks alright.

also, does anyone know how much a replacement back bumper (such as this: http://www.ranchhand.com/product.php?id=3557) would cost? all the sites ive visited seem to not like giving prices on their items. im kinda guessing that the grille guard that i linked to above would be about $600, because i have a friend who bought a ranch hand for his 01 f150, i know, not the same year, but it has to be similar in price, right?

I paid $550 for my Ranch hand (06 screw). For what it's worth, my company has about 25 trucks in the fleet, and there are a million mule deer around here. Nothing else we've found will hold up to hitting one like a ranch hand, they are built plenty tough. The only downside is they're only available in black. You could paint it yourself, but out of luck if you want chrome.

The Ranch Hands are built like a tank to be honest. I have one on my truck and we sell about 3 or so a week. All my friends have 'em and we sell the most of 'em.

The one in the pic is a Rancher or somethign like that. The uprights are about the same, but the wings are 14 gauge vs the 12 gauge for the Ranch Hands (12 is thicker than 14).

Got a few questions.
How do you like it?
Did you install it yourself? If you did, did it require basic tools?
Would you recommend it?

Thanks

Most of the aftermarket bumpers are pretty easy to install yourself. I believe I found one that required some extra drilling but from what i recall they all bolt on into existing holes.

thats what i figured. i saw a video of someone installing a grill guard on a silverado, and it looked like the hardest park was just aligning it so its even and looks good, and even that didnt seem too hard.

this is the pic that ranch hand uses on their site, and the grille guard we have mostly been discussing.

That's a great guard.
Keep in mind that many of the bolt on guards require removal of the factory tow hooks. Just something to keep in mind in case you use them ever, or find yourself somewhere when you'll need them and wont have them.
