Inspection tags are good for 30 days, and you are allowed to take it to a repair shop. You do the tittle transfer, pay the taxes, proof of insurance, and pay for 30 days worth of tags. They give you the hard tag that will go on your truck. When it passes, you go give the inspection certificate to mva, pay for the tags, and roll.
The hardest part of the clock spring is fishing the wires out of the column, then fishing them back in. everything has to be lined up, and straight. Make sure the battery is unhooked while working on it, the air bag
Coulg go off. If the truvk has been hit from tje front, check the air bag sensors on the core support, or the air bag could vo off first time you turn on the key, and put it in drive.......ouch. Been there........
I appreciate the info. I was looking into the inspection tags, but decided that I'd at least get the clock spring installed before going to the MVA. No use starting the 30-days if I know it'll fail. Not to mention my work schedule hardly gives me much time to do anything.
The 94 is kicking my butt. Once I had the fan and shroud off, I thought I'd try to find where the antifreeze smell is coming from. I ended up removing the water pump, because I thought the timing cover might be cracked. Turns out the po sealed the weep hole shut between the pump and the t-cover, causeing the plate on the back of the water pump to rust out, so I put on a new water pump.
I made up all the brackets to hang the new electric fan, and installed it. Was putting in the antifreeze while doing the electric. Low and behold, the bottom hose is bad.....
I know Bud. I need to stop being cheap, but this truck is starting to eat up my rainy day fund. tomorrow I'll put on the NEW upper and lower hoses, and tie in the electric.
