Good morning all. Happy Saturday. The fire house threw me a surprise going away party last night. It was a good time and they got me over with the notion that I had a meeting.

I'm just taking a break from hooking up a water heater. Had to go get some fittings. Only have about $400 worth of fittings and valves but, left them in Virginia.

But, Don, then you have to go get the stuff. 15 miles or 30 miles one way depending on which store. Local store is not always open, or have what you need. HD does not always have what you need either. Went to get a gas shut-off yesterday, there were 30 listed on the inventory but, they couldn't find any.

I understand that.. My local HD or Lowes are within 5 miles so it isn't a problem..

It's to bad they chased away all the mom and pop hardware stores who carried everything and were knowledgable also..

Most of the box stores only stock what headquarters tell them to. When Lowes first opened up near here, they had well supplies that would not meet local codes. OK for NC but, not NY.
