Hey!
I am replacing my water pump, thermostat, and heater core.
What would be the best way to relieve the system of air pockets?
Is this even something to be concerned about?
Thanks for your input!
Some thermostats come with a hole drilled in the edge to allow air to escape when filling the system. Others, like myself drill a 1/8" hole in the thermostat.
What I do, is for about a week after making the fix, I check the fluid while cold and top up as needed. Eventually the bubbles will work themselves out of the system.
Some engines have a bleeder screw, usually near the TStat.
