"Check Coolant Additive" warning

Had this warning pop up the other day.... I checked it and it is fine but I am not sure how to reset/clear the warning message. Every time I start the truck the warning comes back across the screen and if I clear it then when I go check the warnings it is always there.

How do I clear it ??

Truck has 13,000 miles on it.

BTW... I have also called the dealer and the shop foreman is looking into how to clear the message as he is not sure and couldn't find it quickly in the shop manual.
I am waiting for a return call... if I get one.

The shop foreman said this warning is triggered by mileage or engine hours.... surely others have more miles and hours than mine and have come across this already.

How did you clear it ?

Ok, after reading several threads and talking to the dealer multiple times I got it reset.

The other threads are almost USELESS regarding the steps needed as they just state :
If you go to the information screen and scroll through the menus you will find the page for turning the warning off
...
You reset it on your dash display, go to maintainance, should be in there that you 'checked the coolant'
...
Page down the menu to " info" and follow the prompts - that will clear the message

These all leave info out for those of us that need the step by step instructions. So here they are and they worked for my 2011 F250 Lariat :
from the main menu select
- settings
- vehicle
- maintenance
- coolant (hold "OK" button to reset)

The fuel filter reset is right here as well.

Hope this helps someone else, as I spent the better part of the morning searching, reading and calling to figure out what should have been a simple reset.

So how do you check the additive? The coolant level is easy enough to check against the full mark but I don't recall seeing anything about the procedure for checking the additive in the PS book.

Good point. 996 did you just check the coolant level or the actual strength of the coolant with test strips?

The book only says to have it checked or something along that wording.
Lexus posted an overview and the kits needed a few weeks ago.

The instructions with the kits are lousy.
For the coolant, I'll test it myself and take it to the dealer.
I was not charged anything the other day with my dealer.

Thanks! I was just getting ready to search for that thread. Kper is right, the directions suck, but you can manage.

check coolant additive

I just went to my dealer and they wanted 60.00 plus tax, I just went to the web site rotunda.spx.com/en-US/Pages/ItemDetail.aspx?itemID=22023, to buy a test kit. I will post later when I get it and let you know how easy it is, I do a saltwater tank and always test my water for hardness and nitrite. It's pretty easy

Reset the "Check Coolant Additive" Light

You actually have to go into SETTINGS, Vehicle, Maintainence, Coolant and resset it there. You can also reset the the Fuel filter monitor there.
