The first time, I did them, I used a torch to heat the center but becomes kind of a mess with the rubber sticky melting mess. Then once that's out of the kept heating trying to loosen.
I did not have a cutting head tip too burn out the shell so had to use a hack saw with the blade upside down to cut a gap to get them loosen enough too punch them out hammer & chisel. The last about 5 yrs ago did the fronts to install poly bushing. But this time, I used a core hole saw for steel/wood and a saw-all when needed to cut the outer shell out as needed for them.
What happen when, I tried to rig up a press the outer lip of the bushing started to mushroom over so stopped. Mind bushing kind of looked the what is in the picture post on the start up of this 1st page..
To install the oem ones. I used a long threaded bolt with 2 large washer on each side and a nut to tighten force them in with some lube to aid in the install or removing next time.
The poly ones are just fits into the bushing hole then push in the center piece and your good to go.:
A must, use the grease on them so they don't make noise..
