Depends on what type of driving you do. If you regularly drive short trips, the fan won't spin during warmup and can help a bit with MPG's. If you drive alot on the highway (or cruise above 40-50mph regularly), the fan won't need to spin and can also help a bit with MPG's. Don't go thinking you're going to get an extra 2-3 MPG. You'd be very lucky to recoup your investment within a year a two.

An electric fan over a mechanical one is worth a few HP. It won't noticeably increase mileage IMO. A happy medium is a clutch fan.
And if you don't have a fan shroud, then I recommend ya get one unless yer in Alaska or Canada.
