Fan shroud replacement
I had to replace the radiator in my '74 F-100 (360) this weekend. I was replacing the waterpump, hoses, etc. and when I put it all back together there was a leak in the radiator (BIG leak).
Anyway, I go to the local Advance Auto store and buy what they have listed for my truck. It turns out, though, that the original rad was a 2 row 18x24 and the new one is a 3 row 19x26. Installation went well with only a few new bolts and nuts, but the holes were already there in the supports (fit like it was supposed to be there). The only problem was that the shroud didn't fit on the new radiator (too small).
Finally, the questions... I figured that with the larger rad I might get away with running sans shroud (yes?), but that eventually I would probably like to get a new shroud. If someone out there with the larger radiator and a 360 would let me know what part numbers go with the larger shroud, I would be grateful.
I may end up going junkyarding to find the shroud, but it would be nice to know exactly what I am looking for first.
