What have ya'll been using as an effective black streak remover? I've used the commercial stuff in a pump sprayer and WD-40, but both get costly real quick. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have used 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water for years. I do wax twice a year, so it tends to come off pretty easy. I try not to use petroleum products on fiberglass or vinyl so that is why the vinegar. I have heard, never tried, that the stuff that contains oranges work good also. I will say, that when I use vinegar, my DW is right there rinsing it off.
After trying almost every "black streak remover" on the market I finally found this. My local RV dealer said that its the first product that they have seen in 15 years that actually works. And the're right I swear by this stuff.
I buy it and send it to a friend in Ohio who uses it to clean the gutters on his house.
Its $24 a gallon here, I use about a quart in a spray bottle to do my 30' TT.
Best thing I have found is Awesome Orange. Its sold at the Dollar Store for a $1.00.
Had an older aluminum trailer that had some bad streaks....I used full strength on and they all came off. This was after trying every other black steak remover which is sold.
I agree. Simlpe Green straight. I used it on a trailer that was absolutly black. I bought it for a steal because the outside was so bad. The owner had tried everything to get it clean and gave up. It took a full gallon and a full day to get it clean. I then took a drive by the former owners and he could not believe it. It looked like new!!!! Sold it the next year for 2grand mor than I paid for it.
I tried simple green on mine when I first got it, and it didn't do anything.
My camper was almost grey when I bought it, maybe now thats its clean Simple green will work.
A camper dealer told me to try simple green mixed with oxy clean, but it didnt work either.
