Hey guys,
I am new here and this is my first diesel van. I did a search and have found nothing. Here is my head ache:
I have a 2004 Ford E350 extended superduty cargo van. It has the 6.0L powerstroke in it with the frame mounted batteries.
HOW DO I GET THE BATTERIES OFF TO REPLACE??? Do I have to un bolt the 4 bolts holding each box to the frame? (which I tried but it is very very difficult.) There has to be an easier way. All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
If you have access to the rear of the frame bolts PB Blaster would be a better rust dissolver than WD-40. I've not seen this set up myself but its possible the bolts will have rusted in place and break upon removal necessitating drilling, extracting and thread chasing before installing new batteries and bolts. If this is the case maybe apply some anti-seize to the threads to make this easier for future sevicing.
