No. Find a Ford dealer if necessary and get the proper filters. Either Motorcraft or Racor. They may be expensive from Ford, but in the future you can find a better source.

I'm not sure about Purolater fuel filters, personlly I'd say no; but I don't have any stone cold facts why they're bad. I was looking the in the thread "beachbumcook" started that has photos of what you need to look for when it comes to filters for the 6.0L (the correct filters vs. "will-fit"). The thread doesn't have the photos anymore. I do know these are the exact fuel filters...and depending on where you look, you maybe to get them at your local parts store.

Racor: PFF4604
Motorcraft: FD-4604
Navistar: 1847170C93
Ford: 3C34-9N074-BA

Ed at partsguyed offers a "white box" version looks exactly like the Navistars I've got sitting on the shelf. www.partsguyed.com

I believe the trade name is "Aquabloc". It's a fine mesh fabric looking material on the outside of the primary filter pleats. If it doesn't have that material...walk away; do not put that in your HFCM (primary filter housing, on frame rail).

Got the filters from the ford dealer today. $76 for them. Pretty expensive but ill find dome somewhere next time that are a bit cheaper. They looked origional. The top filter fell apart when I spread the fins open to look inside. Shows you how old they were... Not a good thingg at all. Bottom one was a bit of a pain, but got it out and it was dirty as all get out. It looked to me as there were little metal shavings in the fuel cap. Maybe from the fuel pump?? Or it could have just been dirt. I couldn't believe the truck ran as good as it did aside from the outbreaks of bucking.

Truck seems to run better now. I will post back to let you al know if it fixed my problem or not. Thank you for everyones help!

http://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/ is where I get my fuel filters. You can get a set of the Racor filters for $35.75 + shipping.

Unfortunately, with the filters you had you have no way of knowing how much damage has been done. Starving injectors of fuel will damage them. You will know before long, however.

Thank you for the link. I hope there has been no damage done... The thing has all the power it has ever had and no signs of faulty injector(s). It starts and idles fine and gets up and goes when i need it to. Guess that doesn't say much though. We'll just have to wait and find out i guess.

Dieselfiltersonline is by far the best place to get OEM filters (sorry Ed) just on price alone. Depending on how hard you ran it on low fuel pressure will determine when/if they go. Since I didn't have a fuel pressure gauge installed on my truck...I couldn't tell you how long it ran on low pressure (45-47 psi at idle; 35-ish psi at WOT). But I can tell you how much it cost if you "smoke" 3 of 'em. Hopefully you'll get lucky and they'll live for another 50k miles.
