Is this coolant ok to use for the 6.0? I found some that is the 50/50 mix at the local truck stop. It is Cat EC-1 approved. What do you guys think?

I think the Cat EC-1 rating is what you're looking for. However, if you plan on doing a flush and fill, you will need concentrate, not 50-50.

I'm sure others with more direct knowledge about this will chime in, but if it is Cat-approved I would see no difference between this and the other coolants being touted around here. That's what specs are for, to let us know when a product meets the same standards as another.

Jut my $.02....

Yes it must be CAT EC-1 Rated coolant but it must be concentrate to get the right mix because of the amount of distilled water left in the system from the flush, almost every town has a Napa store and they carry this.
Valvoline.com > Products > Antifreeze Radiator Products > Antifreeze > Zerex® Extended Life Antifreeze / Coolant and you can get the Restore products from your local Cummins parts dealer.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I know about the EC-1 rating. I just wasn't sure about the 50/50 mix. I do have a Napa near home. I was just wondering about the Mobile since it is the same oil I use. The 50/50 mix seemed a little cheaper per gallon than the Zerex but Im not sure what the concentrate would cost. Thanks for the info

I got some stuff from checker auto called Final Charge cat ec-1 rated

It good up to 600,000miles but needs to have an additive at 300,000mi
It also had a hour rating for changes

like 23.00 a gallon full strengh

seams like it was a couple bucks cheaper a gallon than ford gold I got last year

I will leave it in as long as the oil cooler holds spec temp spread and the coolant filters look ok
fresh oil cooler and Final Charge all new at the same time

will see if this new coolant cat ec-1 rated does any justice to our oil cooler problem
