Here is the exact situation, when i first start my truck sometimes it stalls right away or it waits for me to go into reverse or drive before it stalls out, then it idles rough for a bit but after its been going for a few its ok any ideas?

As for the brakes it may be that the shoes need adjusted or it may be the type of shoe lining. However it would be worth pulling the drums to check that the linings are not contaminated with fluid/badly worn and that all the hardware is good.
I had a leaking rear axle tube seal that allowed a slight amount of gear oil to get on my brake shoes. There was no oil leaking externally. That little amount of gear oil caused my rear to lock up. I remember one side (leaky side) locking up while the other brakes would barely would slow me down from light application of pedal.
