3 battery cables..HELP

3 battery cables..HELP
Help!!! my 84 4x4 with a <a href="http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/">302 </a>bbl, has 3 battery cables,
1. looks like it is connected to the front of block.
2. is attached to the frame.
3. is connected to inner fender looks like a starter solenoid of voltage regulator
when you conect the one from the frame and the one from inner fender post on bat sparks, am i confusing the neg and pos side?
help this is really frustrating me and this is my first 4x4 project

OK three is not unheard of....one to the block is battery negative, one to the frame is also battery negative, the one to the starter relay on the fender is the battery positive.....do not mix them up it can cause the alternator to go poof....I hope it isnt too late
