Chime problem....
My 99 Explorer Sport has run flawlessly since new. Recently the warning chime started to sound everytime you open the door. It goes off as soon as the door is shut again. There are only two things meant to cause this chime according to my Haynes manual and that is either the key is still in the ignition or the <a href="http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/"><a href="http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/">headlight switch</a></a> is still on. Does anyone know the beast way I can isolate the faulty component. Thanks Bill

Chime problem....
It is probably either the chime module or the switch in the key cylinder. I would try pulling the lower trim off the steering colum and inspect the switch. It should look similar to these pics.
