My 99 F250 6.8 truck wont start. Fuses good, new fuel pump, grounds good, fuel pressure 35psi, NO spark. changed the cam sensor, no codes. Any ideas ??
Two things, first with the key on, check the RED wire at the injectors for +12 volts. This will tell you if the PCM (generally) has voltage, and the COPs too, of course.
Second, the crank sensor is under the AC compressor. I'd hook a digital volt meter set to AC volts, connect to the sensor and crank the engine over and see if you get any voltage out of it.
Guys WE got it...................!!!! After loosening the motor mounts lifting the motor slightly so the A/C compressor could be loosened and moved out of the way I changed the crank sensor. Reassembled and it runs. The only thing now is the NEW fuel pump sending unit from NAPA only reads 3/4 when the tank is full. I guess as long as it reads E when empty that what matters.
Started off with the wires chewed off the fuel pump. droped the tank 2x siphoning fuel x2 new fuel pump, checking every wire x10 checking inertia switch, cam sensor, purchase of a fuel pressure guage , it was the #@!?** crank sensor. The good part is it runs.
